The Causes of stress.

Stress is a natural part of everyday modern living. Stress is everywhere effecting me, you the next door neighbour and even their dog. Our minds and bodies are constantly being bombarded with information that can cause us to subconsciously tighten up and without sounding like a commercial 'the pace of modern living' can get you all wound up in an instant.

So what are the main causes of stress…

  1. Financial
  2. Workplace
  3. Personal
  4. Health
  5. Daily Irritants

These 5 things broadly speaking are the main causes of stress in our lives today.

Stress In The Workplace

More and more people are complaining about stress in the workplace, in fact it's starting to cause employers to think about how they relate with their employees in the workplace. If you work for a large corporation then there will be somekind of support system in place for you to make your concerns known.

If not, then there are options for you to use, firstly take a break!

The biggest cause of stress in the workplace is lack of regard for self, you are entitled to lunch breaks. Use them - if you're that busy you can't take them then something is seriously wrong with your work load

Make a hot drink - take a break from the screen stretch your legs and offer to make your colleagues a hot drink (in small offices only) focussing your energies into a daily task such as making a hot drink is a great way of emptying your mind keeping you level headed

Posture - Try and keep a good posture in the workplace, if you're slouching that can have a negative impact on your breathing - maybe consider some Alexander Technique

Snacking - snacking on rubbish is going to have a negative impact on your mood and in time your overall health. Snack Healthy!

Taking crap from your boss - he might pay your wages but he does'nt have the right to speak to you like something he scraped off the bottom of his shoe, if your boss is overstepping the mark then challenge him on it. You have more rights as an employee than an employer
